So do you eat breakfast first to kill the bad taste or go straight for the toothbrush? I grab a glass of juice then brush because brushing then grabbing a glass of juice kills the flavor by a factor of 47.

OJ after brushing your teeth indeed is THE NAST.
I go straight for the toothbrush anyway because I don't have OJ every morning. I drink iced tea or coffee with a pastry. My favorite lately has been the pepper jack cheese croissants at the Coffee Bean.

I don't wake up in the morning nor eat breakfast, so I'm not qualified to answer this question.

Wake up, do teeth, get dressed, drive to work, have an apple and some juice and that's it until lunch.
Problem solved.

Weird, I don't get morning breath. My breath smells great 24/7, even when I smoke. If it wasn't for dental hygiene, I wouldn't even bother brushing my teeth.

Who brushes their teeth, anyway? They just get dirty later.

Eat then brush. If I just pass out without brushing my teeth (shut up, everyone does it or has done it) I usually brush my teeth, then shower, then eat, then brush again.

That's gross Jen. Thank god men don't work like that.

These thought provoking posts are what keep be coming back for sure.
I drink as much coffee as I can first then rinse, brush, rinse and out the door with an apple.
If for some reason, rarely of course, my breath actually has an odor I'd rinse with warm water.
I don't allow anything to mess of the taste of my first cup of coffee.

Sorry Jen you are on your own here. First person I ever met that didn't brush before they went to bed.

@Scrivs- I am just glad to see you brush your teeth every morning. I am sure most of the time the brushing takes place in the afternoon, though.

My routine used to be wake up, eat breakfast, shower, get dressed, brush teeth, but now it's wake up, shower, get dressed, eat breakfast, brush teeth. And I can't believe this but at night I now floss.

Don't worry, I started using toothpicks. My dentist's #1 recommendation.

Up. Cigarette and coffee (champion's breakfast). Work 2 hours. Get dressed, eat some french cake, cigarette and then brush teeth.
But it changes if I must go out early, I could kill someone with a simple kiss otherwise =)

Ditto. I drink coffee until whenever, eat breakfast, then brush.
And OJ right after brushing is the worst!

I have my ritual that I never stray from. Wake up. Stumble into the bathroom. Say hello to the lavatory. Shower. Deodorant. Shave. Brush Teeth. Take Medication. Eat Bananna.
I am not a morning person, and all of these steps are done in order or required awakeness :=)

I'll Amen to that. Listen to this lady, she knows what she's talking about.
The taste of the first coffee of the day is a sacred thing.

Eat then brush. Definitely.
Toothpaste + toast is never going to be a winning flavour combination.

And I'll Amen to that. Seriously, sometimes I go to bed thinking about how good my coffee will taste when I get up. My husband leaves me a cup right by the bed every morning. He's such a good guy!

Brush first thing, drink a cup (or 10) coffee, brush again. Works for me.
