Well, despite the confusion about my days, today was my day and I'm having to postpone until tomorrow. I originally picked Sundays because Saturdays are my main day for getting out and doing something active. This week I had to swap to Sunday though. Consequently, I left home at 7:45am this morning, and got home at 8pm this evening after walking for 8 or 9 hours in Derbyshire - quite gruelling really.
So I'm catching up tomorrow evening after work. Next few weekends I have Saturdays planned out and Sundays more relaxing :)

Week 2, day 1: 12, 12, 9, 7, 13
I expected today to be a lot easier. It wasn't.
I do notice some of my shirt's are tighter in the sleeve and chest, so I'd say this is a pretty good program.

@Ozone: Is there a reason you do them in the early part of the day? I don't do them cuz I'm not a breakfast man and I wake up late anyways so I tend to want to get some food in me first.

Lately I've not been able to sleep past 6 am.
I will generally have a very light breakfast, answer emails, read some feeds, then do the set and go shower.

This was much harder than last week, but after my Sunday game (which I didn't have last week) my body is usually drained. Body just wasn't ready for it, but I pulled it off and my body hates me more already.

Still feel under the weather. Would have been better off doing it early in the day instead of at night when I feel worse, but I pulled it off. I thought I would be fancy and lower the rest time, but I now realize it is there for a reason. Bloody hell.

Week 2, Day 2: 16,13,11,11,20
I thought I'd been doing the minimum for the last max set each time so I ought to put a bit more effort in. I'm not sure I'm really at collapsing point at the end or if I'm just bailing out once I know I've done what's necessary. Regardless, this is hard work but I can feel the benefit. The first push ups feel much easier than they did when I started this thing.

Body was obviously feeling better than the previous days and for the first time I sensed that I was getting stronger. Think I will do the exhaustion test early Sunday morning so I'll be ready for Monday. Looking at Week 3 the reps definitely take a jump so I might be stuck at lvl 2.

Just did the test. I hit 36 this time. I actually did quite a few more (43,) but after 36 I couldn't keep my form right, and I know it wouldn't count. I just kept going to push myself.
That puts me in Rank 4 now, which means I upgraded 1 level. Not bad.

Well, I finished today's set, but was interrupted halfway through when the termite inspector showed up. So my break between set 2 and set 3 was close to 5 minutes. Is that Kosher?
Week 3, Day 1: 25, 17, 17, 15, 25
Everything I could do for the last one. I might have to repeat this week. On the good side, I know I couldn't have done that set 3 weeks ago.

The delays are supposed to be minimums so a few extra minutes can't hurt there. I think it's more important not to try and speed it up rather than spend an extra few minutes delaying. So you're fine! :)

I might need to take a longer break than usual this week or repeat this week because this was definitely the weed out session. Not happy at all with the last 25. You guys might have to go on to the next lvl without me while I stay behind one more week.
To those who haven't done it yet, it's hard. Damn hard.

I've just done my test after week 2 and got to 36 which I'm quite pleased with. I did 14 on my first test when starting this so it just goes to show this is having an impact.
Tuesday is normally my day 1 so I'm running late starting week 3 due to working late. So I think I'll do my first week 3 day tomorrow, the second one on Friday and I'll be back to normal on my correct days by the end of the week again.
This is hard, but enjoyable.
Incidentally, I'm keeping a Google Docs spreadsheet to keep track of all this and so far I've done 408 push ups as part of this programme - that number is 408 more than I've done in the last few decades!

Week 4, Day 1: 27,20,20,17,27
...and with that, Fuscom believes he will not go back to week 3, 2 or 1, nor gripe about how outrageously bad this set was, while stressing about the next set being even harder looking, but rather, he will gracefully exit this competition.
While I will no doubt continue to work out, and will probably add pushups to the routine, I have come to realize that the quest for 100 in one continuous set is an unrealistic goal for me. There's a reason why I was a fullback and not a wide receiver. There's a reason why I can cycle for 10 miles, but no way I could even begin to fathom even a fun run of the same distance. There's a reason why I hit the links on the dawn of a fresh Saturday morning instead of strapping up the laces to hit the pavement.
I'm simply not built for this. I ain't trying to be all Rocky 6 or Brett Favre either. Besides, I got things to do.
So carry on brave soldiers, I'm outtie and content in the fact that I did 111 pushups in one day.
