I've watched most of the ALCS and now the first 5 innings of Game 1 in the World Series, and the Red Sox are just on fire and untouchable in the postseason. Over 15 hits tonight before the 6th inning, even the Red Sox players that normally aren't good hitters are doing great, for example Julio Lugo is 2 for 3 tonight (so far). With all the rest that the Rockies got, they came at the Sox with their best starting pitcher and he got shelled from the start, including a first atbat homerun on the bottom of the 1st. I can't see the Rockies winning 1 game let alone winning the Series.

I don't know much about baseball, but 13 to 1 makes me think you're probably right.

If the Rockies didn't have 9 days off I guarantee this would've been a different game.

I could only make it through the first 6 innings myself. I just hope the series gets a little more interesting than game 1.

Gotta agree with Scrivs. Methinks that the Rockies just had too much time off and were not in the same zone that they woulda been had they been playing ball continuously, like the Red Sox.
Game 2, at least I hope, will be better.

I was hoping for a better turn around for the Rockies in Game 2 but it was a much closer score this time. We'll see how Boston does up in Colorado next (especially at a higher altitude). They've had the home field advantage for their recent games.
Mostly I think the Rockies' pitchers need to just throw in the strike zone. I'm seeing too many balls and walks. Even if the Sox do hit the ball, the Rockies have good fielders to handle it. I'd like to attribute the bumbling in Game 1 to the rain though.
Although last night, it looked like they were trying to seriously injure the Sox's batters. Ow.
