I've been super busy lately, not having time to watch matches nor keeping up with football news.
I saw and heard short clips that David Beckham is hurt again; Sir Bobby Robson wrote [possibly bad] things about David in his book; and wanting a transfer?
If anyone knows the skinny, please fill me in.
Thanks in advance!
Cheers,
edub

When he came to the states he had to recover from an ankle injury which he did quickly. Then 2 weeks ago he was playing in the Super Liga final and went into a challenge very soft and at the wrong angle and twisted his knee so now he is out for the rest of the season. So far it has been nothing short of a disaster. I don't think he will be going anywhere though because now he has even more to prove.

Yeah, crappy news just when things looked like they may be going right for the guy...

He was so hyped I was looking forward to seeing him play. Too much hype, IMO. Sure, I was looking forward to seeing him play but now that he's not, I'm lost. I'd like to get into soccer more but he was my tool to do so and he's sitting on the bench.
According to this article, he's had a major impact and I do agree with that but unless his butt gets off the bench, they inject some new players or try to bring focus to the game instead of players (many options here) it will be for naught.
Personally I think they let him play too quick. Because of who he is they allowed him to play in a friendly game of soccer back home, then he played here. Next day, he was out for the count. That ticked me off royally because I feel as though they let him do whatever he wants because of who he is. That's not good for the team. Maybe they can use this time to get their act together.

Wow! I didn't know all this. I know he played a couple games for L.A. Galaxy and played pretty well. @Tyme-I agree, they should not have let him step on the pitch whilst still injured.
@ Scrivs: I watched the video of the tackle in the Super Liga final; seems he tweaked his knee pretty badly.
I went back and watched some matches, IMO, it seems like he has a huge TARGET on his back...and players are out to get him? Just my thoughts.
I didn't know his injury was that severe, ending his season.
Does anyone know about all this speculation about David going back to England and playing in the premiership?
And what's all this talk coming from Sir Bobby Robson? I *read* that (Robson) was critical about Beckham's lifestyle off the pitch, being married to Posh; but, wrote he's a good lad and should focus more on his career rather than the glitz and fame of Hollywood. Not sure about all this. It's his life and from what I've seen of David, he handles himself well on and off the pitch, IMHO.
So, what do you guys/gals think: Should Beck's stay in L.A.? Or, should he finish his prime playing days back in the premiership, then come play in the U.S.?

I think it's great for US football that he's chosen to play there in his prime. Sometimes injuries happy at the wrong times, and there's nothing you can do about it. Look at Heskey for England - two excellent games last week after coming back from nowhere, and now he's broken his toe, ruling him out of the next two England games.
