Earlier today Kobe's agent announced that he wanted Jerry West back as GM or be traded. Where would he go?

He won't go anywhere for starters and it looks like they will bring West back in a consultant position. Considering Kobe is the one that chased Shaq out of town and caused this whole mess, he has no right make executive decisions. As for players to get they really only have two options out there that I see: Jason Kidd or Kevin Garnet. To play the where would Kobe go game I would say Chicago if anywhere because they have enough young talent to package a deal with and they are contenders in the Eastern Conference.

I would say "We'll take 'im!" on behalf of the Griz but frankly, I don't want him. That superstar ego shit bores me to death.

Personally? I'd like him to just go AWAY. Ugh.

Are you people out of your mind? Get rid of Kobe all together? Who do you people like exactly? Kobe has every reason to make demands why you ask cause he is Kobe Bryant. He is the Lakers with out him they have no one. And no Kevin Garnett or Jason Kidd is going to build a team he couldnt. Send one of them there with Kobe and we are talking world domination. If your going to hate him have a better reason then his ego. Shaq has shoes labeled the World Is Mine and he thinks hes fricken Superman, now we can talk about an ego.

I got a better reason to hate Kobe than his ego.
His overall personality.
Short of saying that he's torn this city apart...it's been interesting noticing how many Lakers fans have defected to being Clippers fans during Kobe's reign just on personal observation. (The bandwagon mindset of L.A. sports fans in general will be saved for another discussion.) ;)

Official he has demanded a trade. Amazing what can happen in the span of 5 days.

Ok, reasons to hate Kobe?
Here goes.
First and foremost he is a selfish ball-hog and that is unsportsmanlike conduct at its core. I don't even call the Lakers "The Lakers" anymore, I call them "The Kobes" because he's a one-man show. Scoring 81 points in a game isn't athleticism or skill, it's selfishness. A true TEAM PLAYER cooperates with his teammates. And I don't just mean taking the ball when it is passed.
If you really believe that, and that that is the way it should be, your understanding of team sports is flawed.

Hell, I hope the Knicks try to get him. Isaiah can trade his entire team for him, send them their lottery picks for the next decade, and put Kobe on the court with four sheep. Maybe shear little numbers into their sides. Be about as good as they've been since the days of John Starks going 3-18. Thus ends the bitter Knicks fan rant/tangent.

It seems that after talking to Phil Jackson he has changed his mind again because reportedly the Lakers told him and Phil Jackson two different rebuilding stories. He is a lost cause and trying to control the organization only makes him look worse. He is a player so just shutup and play.

Im going to quote Magic Johnson on this one. "We will not trade Kobe Bryant! Why would we trade the best player in the world?" End quote, Enough said.

Selfish people usually don't make good team players because they default to thinking about themselves first. Kobe is a prime example of this. He is a selfish player and puts his needs ahead of the team.

I hate to tell you this but Magic Johnson's opinion doesn't hold much bearing to the Lakers' management decisions. If he wants a trade, he'll get it, because there are plenty of teams out there who'll take him.

If the Lakers do not care about what one of their partial owners thinks then they have more serious problems then Kobe. And that proves there is obviously a problem in upper management. If you hate Kobe so much why are you wasting so much of your time going back and fourth writing about him? I dont like Shaq, you dont see me on any websites about him. Nor care where he goes or what happens to him.

Because you put Kobe on such a pedestal your vision is blurred? Because this is a forum of discussion, and that's what people do here?
Magic's not the top of the command chain. He only owns 10%.
There are far better ALL-AROUND players than Kobe who are team leaders as well as quality players.
So why do you hate Shaq...because the Lakers haven't done shit in the playoffs since he left?

I also want to clarify, I am not a huge Kobe fan. But Im a HUGE Lakers fan and Phil Jackson fan. Whatever Phil says, to me its golden. But for where the team stands right now we need Kobe. I should have angst toward him for breaking up my dynasty but I really do not like Shaq so I was not too bothered by it. I was more upset of losing Robert Horry. But for what the Lakers have to work with we need him. Now would they be able to get other players without Kobe's salary, yeah possibly, I just cant picture him in anything other then a Lakers jersey.

No I didnt like Shaq when he played for Orlando, just never have. When he went to the Lakers I was not the happiest person and watched them in spite of it. Even with Lakers losing, Im happier with him in Miami. I do also agree there are more team oriented players but there is a reason Lakers are doing what they can to keep Kobe and you cant deny that he is a good player. My favorite player is AI, send him to LA and I will die a happy woman.

It's refreshing to see women debating sports. Unfortunately Kobe will be what he wants. It's sad to see because Kobe is not a team player and he's not the best player. There are always better players but they don't get their chance in the spotlight.

Speaking of good team player, how about Lebron James last night?

No. In my not-so-humble opinion, Kobe Bryant is to basketball what Terrell Owens is to the NFL: an attention whore.
His ego is the best reason to loathe him, I think. That said, I don't like his personality, either. I also agree with jensized when she said...
But then, I've been jaded about the NBA for years now and prefer college hoops in general.
