I don't think I have ever been more annoyed with announcers/commentators during a game as I have during this one. For a bit of context, the ball is cross, Buffon (Italian keeper) comes out and knocks the ball and his player out. His player is out of bounds behind the goal line, the ball gets sent back in and Ruud finishes it in what they claim is an offisides position. The problem is the Italian defender was behind the goal line. In this case he is considered to be ON the goal line and therefore there is no offsides.
Just because he is off the field doesn't mean he counts as out of the play. If that was the case the whole team could always just step on the other side of the goal line and get everyone offsides for any type of offensive play. For 5 different announcers and commentators to miss this is beyond me.
Netherlands walks away with a 2-0 lead that is well deserved and there was no "lucky" goal. Idiots.

In the 88th minute one of the announcers finally has mentioned my point and the other guy almost argued it, but admitted he might have to look into it. Dominating performance by the Dutch. This is why they are my favorite national team outside the US.
Italians just looked old, but missed their chances for sure.
