I just read today in the Miami Herald that Wayne Huizenga is considering selling 49% of the Miami Dolphins to a New York based buyer. (He wants to keep control as well as sell the team.) Rumors are flying around that the Dolphins may be on the move out of Miami.

Sports Illustrated also did a piece recently on Jim Kelly's comments regarding rumors that the Bills were looking to move out of Buffalo.

Toronto's apparently been courting the NFL for a team, and the league is eager to comply, trying to build a fanbase in the city by holding pre-season and regular-season exhibition games there.

If I recall correctly Los Angeles is the second largest television market in the nation, yet the closest thing they have to a football team is the Oakland Raiders. (About 10 years ago the owners of the Bucs, the Glazers almost moved the team to L.A., planning to rename them the "Los Angeles Spidermen".)

Is it just me, or does it seem like the NFL is about to make some moves in the next few years to expand the league? I've heard that both San Antonio and Las Vegas are also looking for a team, and have been for a while, but don't know how active either is on that front as of now.

Thoughts?
